Kristy's Zumba in Lebanon

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Clouse Fundraiser on Friday night.  I heard we raised over $800!  AWESOME!!!!  Sorry I couldn't stay long...was very tired and had a bunch to do.

How has the working out been going?

Mine has been great!  I've been sticking with doing home workouts (Insanity) on the days I don't teach and I typically take a break on Sundays.  I feel so good!  Higher energy, better moods, etc.

Eating has been about the same.  I have good & bad days.  I haven't had the opportunity to make any clean recipes lately, but will hopefully have some time after this coming weekend.  My fridge is empty right now, haha!

I was able to workout Friday, Saturday, and Monday.  I feel GREAT!  I'm getting myself back on a routine and it's wonderful how I feel so much better after exercising for a few days.

Eating was okay this weekend.  I had drill so that limits my healthy options a bit.

Anybody do any new workouts this weekend?!?!?
Try new healthy recipes?

I did great this week with my workouts!

Tuesday & Thursday I taught Bodypump & Zumba (+Toning on Thurs).  Monday & Wednesday I did cardio interal workouts at home.  I plan to do the same tonight as well.  I'm trying these Insanity workout DVDs...they are killer but a great workout for me.

Eating wasn't to shabby this week.
Monday I had chicken parm w/ whole wheat pasta
Tuesday I had lean beef tacos (with lettuce, salsa, cheese)
Wednesday I had left over tacos
Thursday I had left over chicken parm.

I had oatmeal and OJ everyday for breakfast and a lean cuisine pizza or small steamer meal for lunch.  Snacks include apples everyday, popcorn everyday, fiber one bars, dark chocolate, pretzels and pita chips.  And of course I had some ice cream this week!  I love ice cream!

Some of you have asked me about eating habits and I've noticed that for some people it seems like you may not be eating enough.  Start tracking what you eat.  Make sure you take into account everything like candy, drinks, snacks, and of course meals.  Are you getting enough calories, protein, sugar, carbs?
Eating too little can sometimes cause a plateau in weight loss.  Your body NEEDS food and it NEEDS healthy food!  It especially needs food on days you plan to workout.  My Tues & Thurs I eat alllll day long.  And I EAT CARBS!  If I didn't I would literally pass out during my second class.
Eating after you workout is the best time because your body is craving fuel.  You just used it up now replace it.  You metabolism is at a high point after exercise.

Also, a lot of insurance companies will provide a free session or 2 with a nutritionist...do it!  It may help you lose those last few pounds.

And just from personal experience and all my hours of college courses/studying...fad diets don't work.  That's why they are called "fad diets".  Plus, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!  A general diet given to thousands of people will not work.  If you want to eat healthier it needs to be something that you can stick with and maintain or it won't work.  Sure, you may lose 10lbs right off the bat, but what happens 6 months from now when you are sick of the "diet"?  Boom...weight comes back.  Make educated, healthy changes in your eating habits that you like and that you will stick with.

Good Luck!

Thanks to everyone that came to class last night!  We had a GREAT time and you guys sweated your butts off...literally!  I loved it!

Special thanks to everyone who wore green!  FUN!
And congrats to our Free Class Pass winners: Nicci, Tamia & Shana!  They were all decked out for St. Patty's Day!

Sooooo.....WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW LOCATION?!?!?!

Comments, Suggestions, Likes, Dislikes...I want to the hear them!

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who braved the downpours and came to class last night.  I think things went smoothly for the first class.  I know it will get better as I get used to the location and as I relearn all my choreo (opposite!).

Wednesday night & Thursday night meals:
I had oatmeal both mornings
Wed lunch I had a Lean Cuisine steam bag meal (yummy & only 300 cals!)
Thurs lunch I had a slice of white pizza w/ broccoli and...gasp...french fries!  They were tasty too!
dinner both nights was pork loin, steamed corn & peas, and mashed potatoes! YUM!

I've been trying to snack more thru out the day.  Snacks for me include apples, bananas, grapes, fiber one bars, popcorn, and honey wheat pretzels.

Workouts:
I'm again a slacker and only worked out while teaching my classes:
Tuesday: bodypump - 55mins, toning - 30mins, zumba - 55mins
Thursday: same as above!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  As most of you know I've been super busy with snowmobiling, working, and of course tracking down all the details on our NEW LOCATION!  Yippie!

My workouts have literally been teaching my classes, so I'm really off track.  My goal is get back on track this weekend.  I started today with doing 1 session of Horizontal Conditioning (www.fuelplusfitness.com) and one cardio DVD of the Insanity Workout (www.beachbody.com

As for eating....I do have one new Clean Recipe to post...Shrimp Couscous.  It was really good!  Last night I made the Black Eyed Pea Soup again..can't get enough of it.  See the Recipes blog for the down & dirty on this easy meal.  I'll keep you posted on more recipes and workouts as I get myself back on track!
